The Tekla Editor is responsible for reviewing, editing, and refining 3D models and drawings prepared in Tekla Structures. The role ensures accuracy, compliance with project specifications, and readiness for fabrication and erection.
Roles and Responsibilities
Review Tekla models and drawings for accuracy and completeness. Edit and correct GA drawings, shop drawings, and erection drawings. Verify connections, bolt details, welds, and member sizes. Ensure compliance with design inputs, standards, and client requirements. Coordinate with modelers, designers, and project engineers to resolve discrepancies. Check for clashes, missing components, and detailing errors. Maintain revision control and update drawings based on comments. Validate material quantities (MTO/BOQ) extracted from the model. Ensure drawings are fabrication-friendly and error-free. Support fabrication and site teams with drawing clarifications.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Tekla Structures editing and detailing tools. Good understanding of PEB / structural steel components and connections. Ability to interpret structural and fabrication drawings. Knowledge of standards (IS, AISC, etc.). High attention to detail and quality control mindset. Strong coordination and communication skills. Add on: Preparation of sheeting drawings (roofing and wall cladding layouts, fixing details, and material take-offs) using Tekla Structures or supporting tools.
